1. The new kitchen layout could be expanded into the adjoining formal dining room, a room that wasn’t being used for dining at all, but rather for housing a piano and the dog’s large, portable kennel.  By removing the wall that separated these two rooms, the family could gain tremendous square footage in the kitchen, minimizing traffic jams and making way for an island at which to prep, serve, and have seats for three.

2. The new design would have to maintain the current architectural detail of the rest of the home, including the tin ceiling and overall traditional Victorian style.

3. The existing hardwood floors would stay, while a slight change in window locations would accommodate a large mantel hood.  The sink would be relocated to reside beneath another new addition, a beautiful bay window.
