During the Design Survey process, Susan took measurements of the Wiese kitchen, documented existing walls and architectural details, and reviewed existing mechanical specifications.

In addition, she discussed with the client detailed elements of the remodel project, such as:

1. How is existing storage in the kitchen being used?
   
   
2. What do you need additional storage space for in the kitchen?
   
   
3. What don’t you like about the existing layout?  How can we make it more user-friendly?
   
   
4. What kind of additional counter space do you need?
   
   
5. Do you have specific materials in mind?
   
   
6. The remodel included the loss of an existing pantry closet, so new storage space needed to be created elsewhere in the kitchen.    
   
   
7. The Wiese’s requested a place to more conveniently use their juicer near the refrigerator, sink, and trash.
