During the in
home consultation, Connie and the clients
discussed the elements that would be key
considerations for the final design of this
remodeling project: |
|
|
|
|
|
-
The new kitchen layout had to
stay within the existing
footprint of the house. The
client was not planning to
add-on to their home to
accommodate the newly designed
space.
-
The new design also had to
maintain the current
architectural style and
contemporary feel of the home
with sleek lines and fine
materials.
-
The new design had to create
additional storage space, and
maximize accessibility to all
areas of the kitchen for this
large family.
-
The kitchen also had to be very
functional for entertaining,
including easy traffic flow
patterns, a large center island,
and two ovens for the clients.
-
The kitchen design and the rest
of the home were to be built
around the center garden area,
showcased by floor to ceiling
windows surrounding the terrace.
-
The clients wanted the designer
to remove the existing stove
hood that blocked views of the
city from their kitchen window.
An alternate was selected and
customized to fit the space.
